The Manchester office has been at the centre of QBE broker development for the North of England since the office was first opened in 1988.

The office covers a wide geographical area in the North West of England from Manchester in the south to Cumbria in the North and includes the major towns and cities:

‘Due to our well established office presence here in Manchester, in what is one of the largest regional markets outside of London, has certainly helped us to build a foundation for broker development through our National distribution activities.

Brokers were asking us for a more complete underwriting package which we now offer. We have approached this by offering a long term view. Having had a presence here for over 20 years meant that we could back up our new initiatives by our past record of consistency of service and delivering quality.

Bringing in well respected underwriters in their own right from the local marketplace allowed them to get into the groove quicker and deliver expectations from day one. Adding to that capability more recently with new underwriting facilities such as Trade Credit has certainly assisted that sense of growth and appetite.

Like all insurance markets we thrive on interaction with brokers and getting to understand the temperature of activity. The recent BIBA 2011 Exhibition and Conference put not just our local market into the national spotlight but our whole QBE business. We were delighted to showcase the potential for this area and once again prove that the NW of England has many opportunities. We want to be at the forefront of that development.’
