Underwriting Appetite

Our underwriting appetite is characterised by high volume and on average low limits. Whilst we will underwrite higher limits and heavy risks in a balanced and considered manner, this is not done in isolation but in support of portfolios

Our team of highly skilled underwriters have extensive experience in offering personal accident cover across a wide range of industry sectors.  Our key appetite areas can be defined as follows;

Schemes and affinity groups

Where:

• the broker wishes to retain a high degree of ownership
• the insurance offering is tailored and highly targeted
• simple and well controlled administration processes, using modern technology

Where:

• cover is required for the majority of the workforce
• the company is UK domiciled
• activities undertaken are medium to low risk

Where:

• covering employees and their families of medium to large UK domiciled companies

Professional Sports

QBE are one of the market leaders in the professional sports industry and offer a wide range of cover increasing our appetite for diverse risk. Our current range of sports includes Football, Motor Racing, Cricket, Jockeys, Basketball and Golf as just a few examples.

QBE have a vast capacity within the industry offering some of the highest individual and accumulation limits. There is also an opportunity to use either our Syndicate 2000 paper or our company market QBE paper; whichever is best suited to the client and risk. QBE prides itself on working closely with both broker and client to tailor cover around the specific needs of each individual risk.
